You are employed as an administrator at ABC.com. ABC.com makes use of Microsoft SharePoint
Server 2013 in their environment.
You are responsible for overseeing the term store for ABC.com’s SharePoint environment. You
have been instructed to make sure that term sets are accessible to the whole SharePoint farm
environment.
You have also been informed that ABC.com users should not be able to modify the terms, but
should be able to use them again.
Which of the following actions should you take? (Choose all that apply.)
A.
You should consider only allowing the use of keywords contained in a term set.
B.
You should consider preventing the use of any keywords.
C.
You should consider generating a local term set.
D.
You should consider generating a global term set.
Explanation:
I don’t think “A” is correct. If you only allowed the use of keywords contained in a term set the other terms would not be accessible.
It’s not listed as an option but if the users were to reuse the terms again wouldn’t they do that by pinning them?
Can someone clarify?
This one is tricky because it could be done a couple of different ways:
1. Create a local term set and make it available to the other site collections
This would result in choosing C, “You should consider generating a local term set”, and would make the term set read only to all the consuming site collections where they could pin the term to their term set.
2. Create a global term set
This would result in choosing D, “You should consider generating a global term set”, which by default is available to all but read only to those who are not Term Store Administrators, Group Managers or Contributors.
Using keywords wouldn’t satisfy the requirements because the users could add or edit the keywords until they were promoted into a term set.
I believe the answer on this would be B and D.
