What is the best recommendation to achieve the goal?

You have three Hyper-V hosts that each have 20 processor cores and 64 GB of RAM. Nine virtual machines
are deployed to the hosts as shown in the following table.

Host1 is located in New York, Host2 is located in Los Angeles, and Host3 is located in Denver. None of the
virtual machines use dynamic memory.
You plan to deploy a two-node Exchange Server 2016 database availability group (DAG) by using the virtual
machines. Each node will have 12 processor cores and 24 GB of memory.
You are evaluating whether you can use the existing servers for the deployment or whether you must purchase
additional servers.
You need to recommend where to place the Exchange servers. The solution must minimize costs.
What is the best recommendation to achieve the goal? More than one answer choice may achieve the goal.

Both Exchange servers on Host1.

Typical Microsoft red herring. Your guess is as good as mine.

Not sure But I’ll Try A.

I’d also go with A.. As it is mentioned none of the VMs use Dynamic Memory, so Host2 and 3 are not capable to hold another server with 24 GB of RAM. Even the cores are also exhausted.

file server use for witness server.

omit this host.

I agree with your comment , while the other hosts cannot manage the VMs specified additional Cores/memory can be purchased , the fact that the option is there to reduce costs the fact that the option is there means costs can be incurred , based on the fact that we should not have a file witness on the same host as the actual exchange servers my answer is E

You can’t always buy more cores/memory. Given all the hosts have the same specs, it’s more than likely that they were all bought at the same time and they’re fully kitted – so you can’t add anything else to them. Your only options would be to
1. Put an exchange on Host1 and buy another host
2. Put an exchange on Host1 and shift other VMs around to make enough space elsewhere (which isn’t a supplied option)

I’d go with A – there’s no other feasible option.

I got this question.

I’m with Mat and Tahlin on this one A seems to be the only option.

With no Dynamic memory, Host 1 is the only host with enough ram to add a 24GB exchange server to it, and it doesn’t have enough spare RAM for 2 Exchange servers.

Without moving other VM’s you cant fit another Exchange server anywhere with the specs required, and they don’t give it as an option.

Answer: A
“Host3 is located in Denver.” It is a SITE without DC, so you cannot deploy Exchange.
