You need to help the employee activate Office on her new laptop computer

Your company uses Office 365 and has an Enterprise E3 license plan. Employees are issued laptop
computers that are configured with a standard image. The image includes an installation of Office
365 ProPlus that must be activated by the employees.
An employee recently received a new laptop computer to replace an older laptop. The older laptop
will be reimaged. When the employee attempts to start Word for the first time, she receives a
message saying that she cannot activate it because she has already activated five devices.
You need to help the employee activate Office on her new laptop computer.

In this case it should be “D” Sign in to the Office 365 portal by using your Global Admin account and then deactivate the old laptop.

Or ask employee to sign in to the Office 365 portal and deactivate the old laptop

C is correct. You cannot manage the 5 Device end user pro plus licenses through the admin interface so D would not work.

As a Global Admin you can manage the installs

Admin Portal -> Users -> Office Installs: View and manage which devices this person has Office apps installed on. -> Edit:
“USER has installed and activated Office apps on the devices listed here. You can deactivate devices that USER is no longer using.”

You should never share your password even with a admin.

D: is the correct

Verified – in new versions you can do this as admin. I did it few times in our company. Signing as user requires user interaction or password reset which is not good option.

C and D are correct. You can deactivate an office install via the admin portal and the end user software area. Although I believe in this instance they are looking for answer ‘c’ as the question states ‘You need to help the employee activate….’

Deactivating office install as Global admin is new, so I guess correct answer is C, despite “Sign in as employee..” what is against security policy..

I had similar question on my exam. But the question was “Which two actions could you perform?”. In this case both answers C&D are correct.

Correct and the answer on the exam is a bit different:

“Sign in to the Office 365 portal as the employee and deactivate the old laptop.”

There answer is:

“Instruct the user to sign in to the Office 365 portal as the employee and deactivate the old laptop.”

So that makes sense.
