Remote management by default is already enabled, and they must in the same domain so answer is 1
To enable your local server to be managed by Server Manager running on a remote server, run the Windows PowerShell cmdlet Configure-SMRemoting.exe –Enable.
You don’t think it’s 8 to enable the firewall rule?
I think when you enable 4, firewall rule is already enabled.
it is true, when you run Configure-SMRemoting.exe –Enablm firewall rules configures automatic
It’s 1, they have to be in the same domain like bean said
8
You can add server from workgroup too. Manageability is another topic…
I think the answer is 8, because you need to define an IP address to a NIC.
Although adding servers that are in workgroups to Server Manager might be successful, after they are added, the Manageability column of the Servers tile—on a role or group page that includes a workgroup server—can display Credentials not valid errors that occur while trying to connect to or collect data from the remote, workgroup server.

Other Dumps say 8 as well. Is this confirmed?
I cannot seem to find a good answer. I tend to ignore dumps answers and find my own. PSCONFIG doesn’t display anything for Network Settings even if the server already has network setup. I feel the intent of the question has to do with Server Manager access. I’m torn between 1 and 8. I’m leaning towards the idea that Microsoft wants us to choose 1.
it is 8
sconfig also show settings, on netconfig is showed nothing so you hav to set a IP address and mask and gw etc.
I agree with miro.It is 8,Read the question carefully.”You need to ENSURE that you can add…..”.So you must check your network settings if everything is ok before you add the new server.
First you set the IP adress (8), after you add computer to domain (1)
I think this question is very unclear to answer. In my experience, this type of questions usually disappear from exams
It’s 1, because adding a workgroup server is a pain in the butt, and can display credentials not valid. Yes you can do it through 8 and many other additional options. I’m assuming that joining domain is obvious for any new server you add, you can then add the server through the ADDS selection?
1
Its 8..
you need to configure the proper IP address first before you can join to a domain
just to make sure your computer can found the dc.
=)
What bothers me from this question is that the name of the machine, as showed onthe image,is not SERVER1, but something else, so, wouldn’tbe be first to change the name of the machine to be Server1 ?
In my experience, these dumps don’t always have the correct image to supplement the question. Looks to me like “sconfig” was “google imaged”.
I was once told that Microsoft will never try to put a trick question in an exam.
I would go with 8. A server doesn’t need to be in a domain to be management by Server Manager.
Think about it this way: It doesn’t matter what workgroup the server is in. If you have IP connectivity to it you can indeed manage it.
I picked 8 when I did the exam – even though DHCP is the default you can’t assume you’ve got an IP address, pressing 8 will allow you to check if you have one from DHCP or set one. If you don’t have an IP address selecting 1 is a waste of time, you’ll never be able to join the domain. After you’ve confirmed you have network, THEN you choose 1.
That’s my opinon
Its 8
