You work as a senior administrator at ABC.com. The ABC.com network consists of a single
domain named ABC.com. All servers on the ABC.com network have Windows Server 2012
installed.
You are running a training exercise for junior administrators. You are currently discussing spanned
volumes.
Which of the following is TRUE with regards to spanned volumes? (Choose all that apply.)
A.
Spanned volumes do not provide fault tolerance.
B.
Spanned volumes are a fault tolerant solution.
C.
You can extend a spanned volume onto a maximum of 16 dynamic disks.
D.
You cannot create a spanned volume using a system volume or boot volume.
Shouldn’t the answer be A and D? Spanned volumes do not provide fault tolerance.
Anthony: You are correct. A spanned volume consists of 2 to 32 dynamic disks are are NOT fault tolerant.
Quando li a questão também respondi da mesma forma que vocês, volume estendido não tem tolerância a falhas. Ainda bem que existe essa parte de comentários. Obrigao Anthony e Bob. Bons estudos.
Right Answer A,D

You are correct.
A spanned VOLUME is a DYNAMIC VOLUME consisting of disk space on more than one PHYSICAL disks.
If a simple VOLUME is not a system VOLUME or boot VOLUME, you can extend it across additional disks to create a spanned VOLUME, or you can create a spanned VOLUME in unallocated space on a DYNAMIC disk. (remember that ALL disks must be or will be converted DYNAMIC)
You need at least two DYNAMIC disks in addition to the startup disk to create a spanned VOLUME. You can extend a spanned VOLUME onto a maximum of 32 DYNAMIC disks.
A SPANNED VOLUME is NOT fault tolerant.
Think of the fact that the OS must be started BEFORE you can read a spanned or striped disk, it is a SW solution WITHIN Windows. So the storage services must be running, before you will be able to use a spanned/striped VOLUMEs.
If we were talking about a HW solution, all would be very different.
Spoken about HW; PARTITION(ing) is always about ONE and same PHYSICAL disk.
A VOLUME is a SW storage space on top of HW storage space(s).
Correct answer is A and D

yes guys you are right it has to be a and d:
Create a Spanned Volume

Backup Operator or Administrator is the minimum membership required to complete the actions below
A & D.
Spanned Volume does’nt provide fault tolorance!
Limit for 32 phisical disks.
Cannot created on boot disk
