You wants to change the memory of a virtual machinethat is currently powered up. What does he need todo?
A.
Shut down the virtual machine, use the virtual machine’s settings to change the memory, and start itagain.
B.
Use the virtual machine’s settings to change the memory.
C.
Pause the virtual machine, use the virtual machine’s settings to change the memory, and resume it.
D.
Save the virtual machine, use the virtual machine’s settings to change the memory, and resume it.

Either dynamic memory is off and you can just turn it on to adjust the settings or the dynamic memory is already on and all you need to do is modify the setting.
None of the options state to turn dynamic memory on, so one must assume it is already on with presented options.
You don’t need to shut down the VM to modify dynamic memory.
I would select B not A.
As long as dyn memory is not defined you have to shutdown, because you define only a startup RAM.

Asuming dyn memory is defined. When it is already at maximum, you have to turn off the VM to increase the ammount of RAM.
Tested on a VM with Dynamic Memory Enabled:
Three settings available :
Startup Memory:
Minimum Ram :
Maximum Ram :
Startup memory is greyed out.
If I try to increase Minimum Ram, I get the following error :
“Cannot apply changes for Memory.
You cannot decrease the maximum memory or increase the minimum memory while the virtual machine is running or paused.”
So answer is A
you are right mate pirulo it doesn’t shows and effect of change after the memory changed i.e increased or decreased.. its “a” moreover there is written that we need to shutdown the vm to decrease or increase the memory in setting please all kindly have a close look…
It’s vmware where I work, but in lab I just tried increasing the maximum dynamic memory on a running VM, both in VMM and in Hyper-V, both let me do it.
So I’m going for B but there are limitations as researcher’s link says, it depends what change to memory is being done.
Thank you so much for giving everyone such a brilliant opportunity to read articles and blog posts from this blog. It really is so awesome and jam-packed with a good time for me and my office friends to visit your web site at minimum three times weekly to see the fresh issues you have got. And lastly, I’m also at all times amazed with the stunning ideas you give. Some 4 facts in this posting are rather the simplest we have all had.
