Which two should you configure in DCS1?

Your network contains a domain controller named DC1 that runs Windows Server 2012 R2.
You create a custom Data Collector Set (DCS) named DCS1.
You need to configure DCS1 to collect the following information:
The amount of Active Directory data replicated between DC1 and the other domain controllers
The current values of several registry settings

A.
Event trace data

B.
A Performance Counter Alert

C.
System configuration information

D.
A performance counter

Explanation:
Automatically run a program when the amount of total free disk space on Server1 drops
below 10 percent of capacity.
You can also configure alerts to start applications and performance logs
Log the current values of several registry settings.
System configuration information allows you to record the state of, and changes to, registry keys.

The question is about collecting data, a standard performance counter does not collect data so the answears are correct. B and C.

There are four types of data collectors:

Performance counter data collector
Event trace data collector
Configuration data collector
Performance counter alert

Starting with 2012 you can schedule when a DCS runs so you can schedule regular performance monitoring, which is what we want to do here, so the answer is Performance data collector. If we wanted to be notified when a threshold is reached, we would use a Performance counter alert.

The question says nothing about configuring an alert.

that’s the point

Ward, you have the same dilemma as me. If you get this question in the exam, what would you select. The “right” answer, or the answer that we see on many sites ? (B & C in this case)

ward

Pirulo , i have my exam tomorrow 🙂 i will go for B & C

You don’t an “alert” you need counter only..

zzz I mean C & D .. I was looking at the vce inside the program instead of the site..

The question is not asking for an alert.. It’s asking to collect data only. So the answers have to be C & D. If if had asked to be notified when a the data passes a certain threshold, then yes B & D.

The question didn’t mentioned about the performance. It’s asking about collecting data only. The answer should be A & C right?

B & C are right.

B: Alert is not asked in the question, but the alert will trigger the the required application to run.

C: is obvious.

What application? The question does not state to run an application. It is merely collecting data.

The answers are C&D. The marked answer shows B&C, however, the answer is meant for another similar question that specifically states to run a program when the server drops below 10% space.

A performance count is a log of data that is collected.

I’m pretty sure whoever wrote this was high, since the answer given is correct, but not for this question. It’s for this question here: http://www.aiotestking.com/microsoft/which-two-should-you-configure-in-dcs1-3/

Answer is definitively C & D:
*New Data Collector Set > Create manually (Advanced) > System configuration information > add your registry keys
*New Data Collector Set > Create manually (Advanced) > Performance Counter > Add > NTDS > then add “DRA Inbound Bytes Total” and “DRA Outbound Bytes Total”

Thank you. I also believe whoever wrote these questions were

1) High
2) Doesn’t speak English
3) Probably not in IT
4) Doesn’t have a job
