You need to ensure that when a user receives an access-denied message while attempting to access Folder1, an email notification is sent to a distribution list named DL2

You have a server named Server1 that runs Windows Server 2012 R2. Server1 has the File
Server Resource Manager role service installed.
Each time a user receives an access-denied message after attempting to access a folder on
Server1, an email notification is sent to a distribution list named DLL.
You create a folder named Folder1 on Server1, and then you configure custom NTFS
permissions for Folder1.
You need to ensure that when a user receives an access-denied message while attempting
to access Folder1, an email notification is sent to a distribution list named DL2. The solution
must not prevent DL1 from receiving notifications about other access-denied messages.
What should you do?

This question is related to the #33 and, in the comments of that question, they state that the answer is C.

Anwser is A

This is done using File Server Resource Manager:
– Classification Management, open Classification Properties and edit Folder Owner Email

Question 33 addresses the use of Server Manager – Creating a SMB share – getting the same result.

You will change the email owner of the folder .. how will not that prevent DL1 from receiving email on other email ???

SMB share is Advanced .. not application.

Why is the answer not D?

Dave

Dave

For same reason as C. Only optionally allows the user to request help. Sets one of the options used by access denied assistance message.

pretty sure it’s D. You can only set the “management property” from a folder, so it’s not an server-wide change (DL1 remains in tact).

Also q33 sets the management property, only through the sharing – advanced wizzard.

Q195 points to D and there are no remarks to deny the answer.

SMB Share, Advanced options has the highest priority ,if not exist ,we will choose the D answer ,so here D is the right answer.

I just verified in lab: when using the Folder Owner Email property there is no email sent automatically. The users will just get the email addresses presented and may manually send email in case they like to.
It’s explained here:
https://4sysops.com/archives/file-server-resource-manager-fsrm-part-6-classification-management
“Setting this property allows you to present the user with the owner’s email address so that they can seek access approval before contacting IT”

strange answers, just dunno :-/

C because if D is applied, dl2 will not be sent

how is an email sent if you just configure where users get the message and what it looks like?!

Answer D is correct. Since the is no SMB Share – Advanced option, the other option is to edit folder management properties.

Also check this:

“When using the email model each of the file shares, you can determine whether access requests to each file share will be received by the administrator, a distribution list that represents the file share owners, or both.
The owner distribution list is configured by using the SMB Share – Advanced file share profile in the New Share Wizard in Server Manager.
You can also use the File Server Resource Manager console to configure the owner distribution list by editing the management properties of the classification properties.”
