HOTSPOT
Your network contains an Active Directory domain named contoso.com. The domain contains three servers
named Server2, Server3, and Server4.
Server2 and Server4 host a Distributed File System (DFS) namespace named Namespace1.
You open the DFS Management console as shown in the exhibit. (Click the Exhibit button.)
To answer, complete each statement according to the information presented in the exhibit. Each correct
selection is worth one point.
Looks right to me. I missed that ‘Disabled’ replication of Server4 at first. Sneaky.
I had this question the last time I took (and failed) this test. Here’s where I’m confused and if someone would please explain it to me, I would be very grateful.
The picture shows three servers that appear to be in a DFS, with Server4 offline.
HOWEVER, and here’s where my confusion is, the text in the problem reads: “Server2 and Server4 host a Distributed File System (DFS) namespace named Namespace1.” No mention of Server3 being in the DFS, yet it shows up in the pic. So, which do you go by – the graphic or the text? If you go by the text, then the answer to the first drop-down box is Server2; if you go by the graphic, then the answer is Server2 and Server3.
So, which do you go by – the graphic or the text?
it’s just replicating data, not hosting DFS…quite a scalable service do we have here 😉
Namespaces are like links to data. (A database of links)
Replication takes place on data where the links can(!) point to. (Replication of data)
Both are individual services. You can use replication without namespaces and vice versa.
FolderA is Replicated (Present) on Server2 AND Server3 (Server4 is NOT active[Disabled]).
Folder1 is Linked (Presented) on Namespace1. The question is if Present means Presented?
If “present” and “presented” are the same than Folder1 means on Server2 AND Server4.
If NOT than Folder1 means Server2 Only.
Because there is no mentioning of Namespace1 in the answers, I would choose for the Replication perspective, which means the answer is correct.
Thanks BAR!!
What the mean Folder1 & Folder2 icon?
Thank you Bart
The question ask what present on the files on the servers as it meant in replication part:
in normal state : the servers (2 , 3 , 4 ) must see the changes happen in c:\Folder A
But
Server 4 is Disabled (think of it is offline and out of service and not see the changes)
then server 2 and 3 part of replication and see the changes in Folder A
so first answer will be server2 and server 3 only .
the name space not hosted in server 3 >> and server 4 offline >> and Folder 1 in server 2 only so any change in Folder 1 appear on that server only
so second part of answer will be server 2 only
Thank you Bart
