Note:
* Getting started with Windows Azure Online Backup is a simple two-step process:
1. Get a free preview Windows Azure Online Backup account (with 300 GB of cloud
storage).
2. Login to the Windows Azure Online Backup portal and download and install the Windows
Azure Online Backup agent for Windows Server 2012 R2 or System Center 2012 SP1 Data
Protection Manager. For Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials, download and install the
Windows Azure Online Backup integration module.
Once you have installed the agent or integration module you can use the existing user
interfaces for registering the server to the service and setting up online backup.
* Install the Windows Azure Online Backup agent
Before you can begin to use the online protection service, you must download and install the
Windows Azure Online Backup agent on the Data Protection Manager (DPM) server. You
can download the Windows Azure Online Backup agent from the Windows Azure Online
Backup portal.
To registering for online protection (box 4)
After you install the agent on the DPM server, you must register the DPM server for online
protection. Click Register Online Protection on the tool ribbon to start the Windows Azure
Backup Registration wizard.
Etc. (finish the steps in the wizard).

see book “Exam Ref 70-412”, page 165, exam tip
****This is right. Just checked page 165****
Page 165 says:
Remember this sequence of configuration steps:
Create a Windows Azure account
Upload the Management Certificate
download and install the agent
Register the server

1-4-3-5
I sure hope you didn’t pay money for that file.
Run WHAT setup? Without downloading the agent? You ever used Windows before? Or seen a computer up close?
Step 4 says download the azure agent…
Stupid? Step 4 is for download the agent.
Right order:

Check this TechNet article,
http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2013/09/19/step-by-step-setup-the-online-backup-service-for-windows-server-2012.aspx
Answer is 1-2-4-3-5
This is an ONLINE backup, so the firs answer from this question you can use is ‘Sign in’ and not install the future.
After that, you download the agent, run the setup wizard, and al last register the server.
So in my opinion the correct answer was already given:
1) Sign in
2) Download WAOB agent
3) Run setup wizard
4) Register Server wizard
http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2014/05/01/configuring-microsoft-azure-online-backup-on-windows-server-2012-r2-essentials.aspx
all wrong, the correct order is 1-4-2-3-5
The Correct Answer Is (2-1-4-5):
2- Install the Windows Server Backup feature.
1- Sign up for a Microsoft Online Services account.
4- Download the Windows Azure Online Backup Agent.
5- Run the Register Server Wizard.

You NEED to use the setup Wizard after downloading the agent. You can’t skip that part! Also I don’t think its necessary to install Windows Server Backup feature to use the Azure Online Backup through the web.
Also people, You can only use 4 answers in the correct order, not 5.
To ratify my previous reply’s please read:

Hello all, please which is the right answer? Thank you
it says that the backup feature has to be installed first on the server. Then create an account, make a vault, download the agent, register the server then create the backups.

The windows backup feature installed on the server is optional. The others are not.
It is 1435 or 1453. I am going to go into the exam with 1435. Thanks johnpp!
is JOHN RIGHT? 70-412
Dear Suzie,
Where does is say “Install the Windows Server Backup Feature” in the blog you mention? I only read the “Azure Backup Feature”. Thoose are different features.
Again, i.m.o. the “Windows Server Backup Feature” has nothing to do with Azure!
Oops, sorry Suzie on the install windows server backup part in my previous reply. You didnt mention that as i see now.
But still, you run the setup the wizard before you register the server. The only available answer combination is: sign in > download agent > run setup wizard > register server in this question. Its 1-4-3-5.
Answer 3 is a setup wizard. Setup software is the same as the process of the installation that comes before the configuration. Setup the agent is i.m.o. not the same as configure the scheduler of the Azure backup. Hope this explains it better!
I found some good documentation that is straight forward.

1) INSTALL the Windows SERVER BACKUP Feature.
2) SIGN-UP for the Microsoft ONLINE SERVICES Account
– Create BACKUP VAULT (Might be in another Question)
3) DOWNLOAD the Windows ONLINE BACKUP AGENT
– The KEY to the question is here.
– In the OVERVIEW Section of your DASHBOARD, Click on ‘DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL’ button to get the
BACKUP AGENT Setup File.
– There is NO NEED to RUN the ONLINE BACKUP AGENT SETUP WIZARD, Manually.
4) RUN the REGISTER SERVER WIZARD.
You point to a blog that’s not a official Microsoft site. Also read the Exam book if you want to know how it works.

From the exam book i mention in my last reply, look at page 165 quote:
EXAM TIP
Remember this sequence of configuration steps: Create a Windows Azure account, upload
the management certificate, download and install the agent, and then register the server.
This is it. I’ve just configured Azure backup for my virtual server, and the process was as it is in the book:
– Registered to Azure (actually long time ago), created a backaup vault, uploaded the virtual servers certificate (client authentication required).
– Downloded the backup agent, and run it.
– At the end of the agent wizard, it asked me to run the Register Server Wizard. The wizard was asking for vault credentials file, that I had to download from Azure portal. After entering a long enough (more than 16 chars) passphrase, the registration started and succeeded. At the end of the wizard, I could run Microsoft Azure Recovery Agent. (At this pont you can see your machine in Azure portal as registered item.)
– There in the Azure Recover Agent I created a new schedule and that was it.

Windows Powershell.
no need for windows server backup, maybe the old version “windows online Backup” whas a plugin for windows server backup
http://azure.microsoft.com/blog/2014/09/11/getting-started-with-azure-backup/
i agree with you DED..
It’s not very clear at first, but I agree with the answer…
sign up (obviously you do this before you do anything else)
download the agent
setup the agent (no point just downloading it, it needs installing as well)
register the server (done through the agent once installed)
You do not need to install windows server backup as instead you are installing the online backup agent.
So, in the end, the answer given here was very much correct.
For what it’s worth, I counted the number of occurrences of each recommended sequence and found that 1,4,3,5 outnumbered them all by a wide margin with 6 occurrences. The next most favored was 1,4,3,5 with 3 occurrences. The rest were just one or two. So the original answer suggested at top is likely the correct one, 1-4-3-5: sign up for an Online Services account, download the Azure agent, run the Azure setup wizard, and then run the Register wizard.
My bad. Correction: The number of occurrences of each recommended sequence and found that 1,4,3,5 outnumbered them all by a wide margin with 6 occurrences. So the original answer suggested at top is likely the correct one, 1-4-3-5: sign up for an Online Services account, download the Azure agent, run the Azure setup wizard, and then run the Register wizard.

I have checked the ref book 70-412 and also few links that are above, they all pointing to the same original answer.
1. Sign-in (or Sign-up if you already have not) for windows Azure online backup.
2. Sign-in to your Azure vault or create one if you have not already.
3. Download and install/configure Windows Azure Backup Agent
4. Register your Server
Note: Ref Book I have the page number are 162, 163 and 164
I have tested this in my exam test environment.
1. Signup for Windows Azure (already done)
2. Download the Backup Agent (after you have created a new Backup Vault from Recovery Services section, don’t forget the backup vault credential file from Infrastructure Preparation step)
3. Run the Backup Agent Setup Wizard, to provide the vault credentials
4. Register the server (can be done with the setup wizard)
you can not Run Backup before make Register Server So The Correct Answer is :
1- Sign up
2- Download Azure Online Backup Agent
3- Register
4-Run Backup
it is here : https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/backup-configure-vault/
Provided answer is correct. Note that the Windows Backup feature is installed by default on 2012R2. You sign up, download the agent, configure it and finally – register.
The Windows Server Backup feature is not required. The GUI is installed by default.
When you install the Microsoft Azure Recovery Service Agent, it will add the “Backup” node in the console tree of Windows Server Backup.
You can try it by your self:

I’m starting to fucking sympathise with Hassan!
I was hoping for a couple of comments where people had put the same thing, back in 2015 perhaps, then nothing. Oh well, I’m not blaming anyone, more fucking reading (yawn)…
This is all you need.
