Your network contains two servers named Server1 and Server2 that run Windows Server 2012
R2. Server1 and Server2 have the Hyper-V server role installed. Server1 and Server2 are
configured as Hyper-V replicas of each other.
Server1 hosts a virtual machine named VM1. VM1 is replicated to Server2.
You need to verify whether the replica of VM1 on Server2 is functional.
The solution must ensure that VM1 remains accessible to clients.
What should you do from Hyper-V Manager?
A.
On Server1, execute a Planned Failover.
B.
On Server1, execute a Test Failover.
C.
On Server2, execute a Planned Failover.
D.
On Server2, execute a Test Failover.
I think it should be D.
yah, agree with D
(You need to verify whether the replica of VM1 on “SERVER2” is functional)… Because of that sentence I agree… The answer should be D
Answer is D as it needs to be performed from the replica. However, some test questions will switch Server 1 with Server 2 so be careful!
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831759.aspx#BKMK_Step5
It’s D
what is the logic behind that..
the answer is B.
Read the link, you have to access the replica server to do the test failover which is server 2 in this case. Answer is D.
D.
On Server2, execute a Test Failover.
Correct answer “D”
You are on the right track.
Once the VM1 moves to server2 the replica is server1 and the primary is server2. Answer is correct.
D 100%, as you need to test if vm1 is working on server2. READ
Wrote my 70-412 exam few days ago and passed with a good score!
File and Storage Solutions and Identity and Access Solutions (ADFS, RMS, etc.) were the most difficult parts of the 70-412 exam.
Some study materials that I used:
Books:
Microsoft Official Academic Course: Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 R2 Services (highly recommend, for it has more details and more Powershell and more sensible labs than other boos)

All are just FYI, hope all can pass the exam easily. Good Luck!

The answer is 100% ‘B’. even though the VM was replicated to Server 2 it was NOT turned on or tested. In order to see if it was functional you CAN’t just turn on the VM. In order to test if the failover works (which is different from replication) you have to do a test-failover from Server 1 – that will let you know if the actual process of turning the machine on on the server 2 “would” be successful or not.
This explains it pretty well https://hyperv.veeam.com/test-failover-hyper-v-replica/.
To test the failover you will go on the replica server.
That being said, the answer is D, in my opinion.
Ladies & Gents,
The answer is 100% “D”. Scroll down to the table of that link (don’t get confused by the URL or the title of the article). BTW read all of them (3 in total).

the answer is B. its a trick question. the test is initiated from source server
The question on the other site is
Your network contains two servers named Server1 and Server2 that run Windows Server
2012 R2. Server1 and Server2 have the Hyper-V server role installed. Server1 and Server2
are configured as Hyper-V replicas of each other.
Server2 hosts a virtual machine named VM5. VM5 is replicated to Server1.
You need to verify whether the replica of VM5 on Server1 is functional. The solution must
ensure that VM5 remains accessible to clients.
What should you do from Hyper-V Manager?
The answer is: On Server1, execute a Test Failover.
*I believed the server names in the question on this site were mistyped.
