You are employed as a network administrator at ABC.com. ABC.com has a single Active Directory domain
named ABC.com.
All servers on the ABC.com network have Windows Server 2012 installed.
ABC.com has two servers, named SERVER1 and SERVER2,which are configured in a two-node failover
cluster.
You are currently configuring the quorum settings for the cluster.
You want to make use of a quorum mode that requiresone node to be available and in communication witha
specific disk in the cluster storage.
Which of the following is the mode you should use?
A.
Node Majority
B.
Node and Disk Majority
C.
Node and File Share Majority
D.
No Majority: Disk Only
node and disk majority is the preferred option
It’s a tricky one, but I agree with Pieter. See: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731739.aspx for more information.
Yes, answer D: does require 1 disk to be online. But een Microsoft says it’s not recommended. In this case answer B: also requires 1 disk to be online.
Agreed. answer is D.
Tricky Question.
70-412 Answer B
My opinion is that this question is testing your understanding of the new functionality of dynamic quorum added to failover clustering in 2012 (and also R2 obviously)
As the scenario suggests you are an administrator for a company that has implemented failover cluster in a 2 node scenario. I’m not sure they would be pleased to discover you have effectively given the cluster a single point of failure with a
“No Majority: Disk only” quorum!!!
We can assume that the cluster is not a test environment as this is not indicated and the MS recommendation is to only use “No Majority: Disk only” quorum in a test environment
Dynamic quorum will not work against “No Majority: Disk only” quorum selection (It will work in either of the other three modes)
Dynamic quorum will allow the cluster to remain running with only 1 node active in a “Last man standing” scenario
Dynamic quorum is enabled by default
This question is for windows server 2012 not R2 so the correct answer is no majority as the question is basically giving u the definition of no majority
