Startup RAM
One of the most important concepts to understand regarding dynamic memory is startup RAM. When using dynamic memory, you must assign each VM a value for startup RAM. This value reflects the amount of physical memory the VM will initially use when it’s booted. More importantly, the startup RAM also represents the minimum amount of physical memory the VM will ever consume. A VM can’t decrease its memory usage below the startup RAM value.
