Your network contains an Active Directory domain named contoso.com. The domain contains a
Microsoft System Center 2012 infrastructure.
You deploy a service named Service1 by using a service template. Service1 contains two virtual
machines. The virtual machines are configured as shown in the following table.
You need to recommend a monitoring solution to ensure that an administrator can review the
availability information of Service1.
Solution: From Operations Manager, you create a Distributed Application and a Monitor Override.
Does this meet the goal?
A.
Yes
B.
No
Think this should be B (No), Monitoring override will exclude it from being monitored.
Your thoughts on this one?
Agreed, you need to define a SLO.
– You can define a service level objective (SLO) to establish the availability and performance goals for an application.

NO
The answer should be No.
B is the right answer.
I think A is right. You create a distributed application, set monitoring and after this, change behavior of alert using monitor override.
Look this example:

I believe by default when you setup a monitor it will monitor all servers for the service whether they have it or not. By using the override you can restrict it to monitor only one specific server. There is a check box that you uncheck during the setup to disable monitoring, that you in turn change when specifying a specific server to monitor. In this case though you are monitoring multiple servers so in theory you could specify more than one server in the override making this a Yes.
