Your network contains an Active Directory domain named contoso.com. The domain contains a Windows
Server Update Services (WSUS) server.
The domain has Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager and Microsoft System Center 2012
Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) deployed.
Users in the finance department connect to a managed pooled virtual desktop collection.
You need to recommend a strategy to apply operatingsystem updates to the virtual desktops used by the
finance users.
What should you recommend?
More than one answer choice may achieve the goal. Select the BEST answer.
A.
Manually update a base image and recreate the collection.
B.
From Configuration Manager, configure software updates.
C.
Configure an intranet Microsoft update service location by using Group Policy.
D.
From VMM, perform Update Remediation.
Explanation:
Previous answer of recreating the collection doesn’t strike me as the best option because there is no mention of
them having profile disks, etc, so what is the impact if you just recreate the collection? Those userscould
potentially lose a lot.
However, if they are configured with SCCM 2012 withsoftware updates, the existing machines will be taken
care of and any new machines that are created in the pool would be as well.
VM with update remediation would seem to be a manual process, and no point in using WSUS with GPO if y ou
have SCCM.
In a managed pooled collection all systems are created from a template and are (comonly) reset after logoff. Updating running machines is therefore useless. Instead update just the template and then select the option to recreate the VM’s in the collection.
I agree.
