Dynamic memory is a great feature that allows you to manage the amount of memory that Hyper-V virtual
machines consume.
How would you identify the memory a virtual machineconsumes when Dynamic Memory is not enabled?
A.
View the amount of RAM listed under Startup in the Memory page of the virtual machine
B.
View the amount of RAM listed under Static in the Memory page of the virtual machine
C.
None of these
D.
View the amount of RAM listed under Maximum in the Memory page of the virtual machine
Explanation:
When dynamic memory is not enabled, the virtual machine is given a static amount of RAM.
This value is located under the Startupsection of the Memory page of the virtual machine settings.
Should be “static”..

I agree!
To identify the memory consumption of a virtual machine
Open the settings window for the virtual machine. From Hyper-V Manager, right-click the virtual machine and click Settings.
In the left pane, under Hardware, click Memory.
On the Memory page, under Memory Management, review the amount of RAM listed under Static.
Under Static -> For windows server 2008 , 2008 R2
Under Startup -> For windows server 2012 , 2012 R2
Q doesn’t Identify OS.
I like Answer C -> You can get the amount of used memory from inside the VM Taskmager or perfmon …
Why is the answer to this A? Am I missing something?
The question is clearly asking how much memory is consumed NOT allocated yeah?
Also. . . it depends on server version?? Well we are taking a 2012 r2 top up exam here.
Some of the comments on these questions are absolutely useless.
ok fair enough I haven’t passed the exam myself yet but my answer to this would be C – none of these.
After some research see the following. . .

Step 2: Identify the memory consumption of a virtual machine
To determine how much memory a virtual machine consumes when Dynamic Memory is not enabled, simply review the amount of memory that is configured for the virtual machine. When the virtual machine is paused or running and Dynamic Memory is not enabled, this amount of physical memory is available exclusively to the virtual machine. This memory is referred to as static memory because the amount stays the same regardless of fluctuations in memory demands. No other virtual machine can use this memory unless this virtual machine is turned off.
A is correct.
