Identify the correct sequence of steps?

The database instance is currently using SPFILE. View the Exhibit and examine the error that you received while running the DB Structure Integrity check. Given below are the steps to recover from the error in random order:
1. Shut down the instance, if not already done.
2. Copy one of the remaining control files to a new location.
3. Change the value of the CONTROL_FILES initialization parameter to correspond to the new location of the control files.
4. Start up the database instance to the NOMOUNT stage.
5. Recover the database to the point of failure of the control file.
6. Open the database.

Hi, what is meant by stop 3. Change the value of the CONTROL_FILES initialization parameter to correspond to the new location of the control files?

I have a 12c DB. When I type SQL> SHOW PARAMETER control_files
I get
NAME TYPE VALUE
———————————— ———– ——————————
control_files string C:\APP\ORACLE\ORADATA\EE8\CONT
ROLFILE\O1_MF_B3HK360O_.CTL, C
:\APP\ORACLE\FAST_RECOVERY_ARE
A\EE8\CONTROLFILE\O1_MF_B3HK36
61_.CTL
SQL>

How to change this value???
I say ALTER SYSTEM SET control_files=c:\app\oracle\oradata\ee8\controlfile\mynewfile.ctl;

Also, what why should you do step 5? i.e. 5. Recover the database to the point of failure of the control file.

What is there to recover? We are are talking only about the control files, not data files, right?

If we have to do it, what is the procedure?

Step 3 should append “restart instance” because control_files is a static parameter!
