I am puzzled. Why is the answer not B? My concept is that for Point 6, it will need DBA to perform recovery on control files?

Nope, in case of 6 it will be an auto recovery (crash recovery).

The key of why not 6 is that DBA intervention is not required because of instance failure. SMON will take care of the recovery.

Instance Recovery

If the database was last closed abnormally, either because the database administrator terminated its instance or because of a power failure, then Oracle automatically performs recovery when the database is reopened
