You have two servers that run Windows Server 2016. You plan to create a Network load Balancing
(NLB) cluster that will contain both servers. You need to configure the network cards on the servers
for the planned NLB configuration.
Solution: You configure the network cards to be on the same subnet and lo have dynamic IP
addresses. You configure the cluster to use multicast.
Does this meet the goal?
A.
Yes
B.
No
Answer is B
NBL requires Static IP addresses
What he said!
IP Addresses All the hosts in an NLB cluster must have static IP addresses. NLB
does not support the use of Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and will
disable the DHCP client on the computers you configure as hosts. Therefore, you
must be aware of the IP addressing used on the subnet and have appropriate IP
addresses that you can assign to the hosts and the cluster. If the subnet uses DHCP for
its other computers, you must have addresses that fall outside of the DHCP scope.
