From this NFAS-enabled T1 PRI configuration on a Cisco IOS router, how many bearer channels
are available to carry voice traffic?
A.
91
B.
92
C.
93
D.
94
E.
95
Explanation:
In NFAS one channel is used for signaling so according to this we will have 94
channel for with bearer capability.
Is the answer supposed to be E.95? In a NFAS signalling, with multiple PRIs you can configure single D-Channel to provide signalling for up to 20 PRI lines.
In this case we have 4X PRI = 96-Channels and you configure one Channel as D-Channel. Am I missing something here?
KO
I believe it is due to the second PRI being configured as a backup for the primary D channel. It would have to stay reserved in order to provide redundancy.
94 is correct.
“If you configure a backup D channel, only 23 B channels can be used on the backup T1 controller because the D channel on the backup is unavailable.”
