1. RSTP elects root switch same as STP
2. RSTP elects root ports on non root switches the same as STP
3. RSTP elects designated ports the same as STP
4. RSTP converges fast then STP. Thats the big difference.

A. is incorrect because they can operate together.

C. is incorrect because RSTP uses Forwarding, Discarding and learning. STP uses Forwarding, Blocking, Listening, and Learning.

D. is incorrect because RSTP is not proprietary its 802.1w. However, PVST+ is proprietary to CISCO.

The correct answers are A and B. Per the Cisco Press book PVST+ does not support RSTP. PVRST supports RSTP.
