Before 5.1.16, it requires the DELETE privilege for using TRUNCATE but in 5.1.16 or above, it requires the DROP privilege,
in oracle certification program: “This exam (1Z0-871) has been validated for MySQL 5.0, 5.1 and 5.5.”
So i think, the author should explain what mysql version that used in this question.
