a)VTP pruning not the issue. Pruning affects all the switches in the vtp domain. Set by the VTP server and propagates out to all clients.
b)Correct: IP routing disabled on the switch. Most likely; if the host is not in the same vlan (or subnet) from the host trying to reach it, some form of routing must take place.
