Which two components are required for all OBIEE installations?
A.
Admin Server
B.
RCU Schema
C.
Managed Server
D.
Node Manager
E.
Oracle 11g
Explanation:
B: Before you can run Oracle Business Intelligence 11g Installer, you must first
create
required Oracle Business Intelligence schemas in an unhardened database. You use
a tool called the Repository Creation Utility (RCU) to create these schemas with
the appropriate permissions and data.
E: The database 11gR2 is required if you want to run the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise
Edition Plus Samples
One Oracle Database Preinstalled and not hardened to host the schemas.

You don’t actually need 11g. The RCU can be installed on a SQL Server or DB2 database
The correct answer should be A, B
During a Simple Install the Managed Servers and Node Server are not installed. Instead the Admin Server is used. As Robo says, 11g is not required.
*Node Manager (not server)
11g is not required

Oracle up to their old tricks
Hi all! Can anyone tell when Admin Server is not required for OBIEE installing?
The correct answer is A and B.
A) and B): admin server is always required, underlying database could be the MS sql server.
Admin server is used to manage the web application like Enterprise Manager, WebLogic admin console. The BI server can still be running without Admin Server, however, the BI server cannot be up without schema loaded by RCU and underlying database.
B,E
I think the scenario is like 1st we install DB (here Oracle 11g) and then the RCU.
So, I will go with B and E.
