Which three Database Machine components or features would you recommend to support these requirements?

You have two very large databases supporting OLTP workloads which run on multiple small-blade
style servers in a cluster and which require optimal latency for I/O.
You plan to migrate them to a Database Machine once a capacity planning exercise is finished.
The database backup strategy requires that backups are written directly to media.
High availability requirements state that you must be able to survive node failures at any time.

A.
Use of write back flash cache

B.
Use of smart flash logs

C.
High capacity disks in the Database Machine

D.
High performance disks in the Database Machine

E.
A high capacity expansion full rack

F.
A high performance expansion full rack

Explanation:
B:The Exadata Smart Flash Cache feature
of the Exadata Storage Server Software intelligently caches database objects in flash
memory, replacing slow, mechanical I/O operations to disk with very rapid flash memory
operations.

B D E is the correct answer.

ABC

A-helps OLTP high
B- helps IO
C- large databases

A is right. flash cache write back mode will improve OLTP performance
B is right. flash log will improve OLTP performance
C is wrong. OLTP requires high performance
D is wrong. we have huge OLTP app. just high performance may not be enough
E is wrong. OLTP requires high performance
F is right. for more high performance disk, we need expansion full rack

So A.B.F. are correct.

L.Zhu , why not D??

It may be huge but expansion is required in secondary requirement if we lack of space. first we need to have DB machine with high performance while selecting initially. So in my thinking D has more value than F!

D – absurd – discs on database machine … rsrs

NAD

A,B,E

A,B – To cover performance requirements.

E – for backups. Direct media backup is another requirement.

A: Use of write back flash cache
B: Use of smart flash logs
C: High capacity disks in the Database Machine

Explanation:
write back flash cache improve performance because I/O will direct to flash
smart flash log will improve the performance of redo log
high capacity disk is used when you need a large space and the information that you received in exercise is that you have “2 large databases”. Database Machine consist the APPLIANCE not the database server
