A desktop administrator is creating a virtual desktop to be used as a template for linked clones.
An application that requires domain authentication is being installed, so the virtual desktop is added to the domain before installation. After the setup is complete, the administrator powers off the virtual desktop and creates the template. When a pool is created using this template, the desktops fail to finish customization. One of the desktop Event Viewer logs shows the folowing message:
getTrustedDomains: Cannot find the primary domain name
What is the cause of this problem?
A.
The system running View Composer is not part of the target domain.
B.
The virtual desktop was not removed from the domain before it was used to create a template.
C.
Windows Firewall was left enabled on the virtual desktop before it was used to create a template.
D.
The domain was not added to the Domain List in View Administrator.
From this VMware KB article,
http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1006124
it appears the answer is B although I have never had this error when using linked clones from a master in the domain.
