Its called Dynamic because by default DHCP assigns IP addresses based on what’s available. So there no guarantee that you’ll be assigned the same ip address each time a network devices requests a lease. Dynamic means constantly changing.

Nah…DDNS refers to the fact that your DNS records are updated dynamically based upon DHCP IP address assignment. Without DDNS, it would be up to an admin to constantly be updating host records on the DNS server whenever an IP address changes.
