Correct Answer:
Cable certifier – incorrectly crimped cable
Correct Answer
Cable Crimper-incorrectly crimped
The correct answer is
Cable Certifier – incorrectly crimped cable
What do you do after you submit the cable test analysis, Is there another step?
should be a toner probe to check for shorts.
that’s not what a toner probe is for.
This is another attempt by CompTIA to trick anyone taking this test into selecting a wrong answer. It’s all about spending another 250 bucks to take the test again.
This cable has an open circuit – you can say it wasn’t properly crimped, maybe the pin broke later after being yanked from the wall, whatever – the point is, it lacks CONTINUITY. Both a cable certifier and a multimeter can test for continuity. Using a cable certifier would be overkill, but it’s the correct answer.
thanks guy, I have a dump for this test but this simulation wasn’t answered on it.

Just took the test Feb 2016- it’s all updated. Now when you answer that the cable came back bad you have to rebuild it in the correct color-coded order.
does anyone have the latest dumps
Hi Guy,
I just failed my N+ now with 639. I had also this question and I couldn’t understand that. What is really the answer??
Is the table on the left never suppose to change?
wondering the same thing. why does the cable test result pic never change??
can someone please help me out with this question
can someone please help me out with this question…
It must be a Multimeter.
Cable testers /Multimeter verify that a cable is wired accurately and can easily identify open and shorts. You can use it to check a cable after connecting connectors to the cable. Additionally, you can use it on cables you suspect are faulty due to problems such as being stepped on or run over by a chair.
Cable Certifier
A cable certifier is used to verify that a cable meets its specifications such as the bandwidth and frequency. For example, it can verify a CAT 5e cable meets specifications and supports speeds of 1000 Mbps, and can verify a CAT 6 cable supports speeds of 10 Gbps.
Please correct me if I’am wrong.
