A user cannot access files on /deps/it directory, the administrator verifies permissions are set rw——- for the directory. Which of the following actions need to be performed to only grant read access to the user on the IT directory?
A.
Set folder permissions to 760.
B.
Set folder permissions to 770.
C.
Set folder permissions to modify.
D.
Set folder permissions to full control.
This question and answers appear in every similar test. But SOMEBODY TELL ME, WHY THIS IS THE GOOD ANSWER?
the rw——- mean 600
760 must mean: read, write, execute for the owner/user, read write for the group, and nothing to others. 1= execute, 2 = write, 4 = read. So 6 = 2+4 wich is read and write. This is the second digit, so this is for all user, whos are in the group. So the good answer must be 740.
Why the 760 considered as good? Somebody explain it to me pls.
i guess because the user has to have execute permission on the directory, because if you don’t have execute permission of the directory, you wont be able to list the directory (to see the files in the directory)
