I should say “A-Backup” because of this part “…completely backup into a manageable size in the least amount of time”
Backup is smaller in size and much faster to do besides that it doesn’t cause any service disruption.

A snapshot backs up both Splat and the Checkpoint stuff, whilst the backup is Checkpoint only. Yes, Backup is therefore quicker than a snapshot, and smaller. the question doesn’t state if you are upgrading just Checkpoint, or Splat as well.

The question DOES say “COMPLETELY backed up”… so that implies a Snapshot. It also says “a manageable size in the least amount of time” (which is probably just trying to get you to select “upgrade_export!), which hints at Backup.
