C)
Upgrade_export/upgrade_import:
data taken: Check Point config such as objects, rules, and users
version/platform compatibility: Cross-platform (versions) of the management server and hardware
Pros: Can be used to export and import to another (or upgraded) platform (splat/ipso, etc…?) can use differing HW
Cons:] no routing, interfaces, etc… taken. Must get netconf.C and ethtab files to restore networking info
Backup/Restore:
data taken: Check Point config including OS level like interfaces and routes
version/platform compatibility: SPLAT only, same version and products need to be installed
Pros: Includes both CP configuration and networking info
Cons: Must restore to same fw/sc version (and on same hardware?)
Snap-shot/Revert:
data taken: Near copy of all directories on the disk, contains *nearly everything
version/platform compatibility: Same hardware (restores to the same version as imaged)
Pros: Can be used to capture almost entire configuration… just a few directories skipped
Cons: Must restore to the same exact hardware and FW/SC versions? Also, this could be a very large file. Time consuming, I have co-workers that have witnessed this corrupting files
