B, because smartEvent correlation causes a lot of load on the server. A seperate server for smartEvent only is very common.

B is accurate, SmartEvent will typically need 4 GB RAM to work efficiently so if the system is under stress it is best to separate the two out or use a bulkier box to run both together.
