How do you verify the Check Point kernel running on a firewall?
A.
fw ver -k
B.
fw ctl pstat
C.
fw ctl get kernel
D.
fw kernel
According to older discussions on this question the answer is A) fw ver -k
Definitely A) fw ver -k
HostName> fw ver -k
This is Check Point VPN-1(TM) & FireWall-1(R) R75.45 – Build 193
kernel: R75.45 – Build 002
fw ctl pstat outputs statistics, but not the kernel version
Same on GAIA R77.30
A.
I think the answer should be B guys. This question is not asking us for the kernel version. It is asking us to verify the kernel.
Glenn, fw ctl pstat outputs statistics, not the kernel version
I agree. B is correct.
A
B. fw ctl pstat
I agree with Glenn, answer is B because you can verify the kernel, they are not asking for the version:
I have to agree it’s B
fw ver -k just prints the version, regardless if it is running or not
Answer should be ‘fw ctl pstat’
Hmmm..I though about ths question:
It is NOT asking: “is the firewall kernel running”
It IS ASKING: What IS the firewall kernel name that the device is currently running
So answer is ‘fw ver -k’
A.
fw ver -k
B.
fw ctl pstat
Now I could realise that they aren’t askink for the version
