Manage – Servers and OPSEC Applications – New – LDAP Account Unit – Servers tab:
“LDAP Servers”, multiple for an Account Unit.

Maybe in earlier versions there was no servers redundancy per AU, and it really was just C.

When deployed with a SmartDirectory (LDAP) server, the Check Point Security Management (SmartCenter Server) and Security Gateways, function as SmartDirectory (LDAP) clients. An Account Unit is the interface that allows interaction between these entities and the SmartDirectory (LDAP) server(s). Each Account Unit represents one or more branches of the information maintained on the SmartDirectory (LDAP) server.

In order to work with SmartDirectory (LDAP) servers, the administrator needs to:

define the Account Unit(s) that represent(s) the organization.

enter the access information, required in order to connect to the relevant SmartDirectory (LDAP) server.

After this is done, the Security Management (SmartCenter Server), or Security Gateways can then connect to that SmartDirectory (LDAP) server, in order to manage the users, or to make queries.

I don’t understand the guys here telling C all over again and again like parrots if above is stated clearly:

An Account Unit is the interface that allows interaction between these entities and the SmartDirectory (LDAP) server(s).

To each account unit you can add LDAP servers. As stated by ileht:
Manage – Servers and OPSEC Applications – New – LDAP Account Unit – Servers tab:
“LDAP Servers”, multiple for an Account Unit.

But of cause this is Checkpoint, stupid question and everything is possible with them.
