You are preparing computers for a new ClusterXL deployment. For your cluster, you plan to use
three machines with the following configurations:
Cluster Member 1: OS – GAiA; NICs – QuadCard; Memory – 1 GB; Security Gateway – version:
R71 and primary Security Management Server installed, version: R77
Cluster Member 2: OS – GAiA; NICs – 4 Intel 3Com; Memory – 1 GB; Security Gateway only,
version: R77
Cluster Member 3: OS – GAiA; NICs – 4 other manufacturers; Memory – 512 MB; Security Gateway
only, version: R77
Are these machines correctly configured for a ClusterXL deployment?
A.
No, Cluster Member 3 does not have the required memory.
B.
Yes, these machines are configured correctly for a ClusterXL deployment.
C.
No, the Security Management Server is not running the same operating system as the cluster
members.
D.
No, the Security Gateway cannot be installed on the Security Management Server.
Also, all cluster members must be the same version. Even if Member 1 was not a standalone installation it would not work due to the security gateway version being R71.
D is wrong.
SG + SMS = legal “standalone installation”
C
It’s D
YOU ARE SETTING UP A CLUSTERXL CONFIG
Do you need a standalone for that? NO
Does it make sense to have a standalone deployment? NO
ClusterXL can be configure with Standalone + Gateway. It is 100% working I have already tested that.
D is correct, even though SG + SMS is legal standalone installation, in a cluster it would not make sense.
D
The answer is “D”.
Member can’t run SG as R71 and SMS ad R77 .
So the most close answer is D because SG R71 can’t be installed (enabled) on top of R77 SMS.
It is C because SMS + Cluster dont work!
D said SG and SMS cant be installed on the same machine. But it is a Standalone installation.
D is not correct
ClusterXL must be installed in a distributed configuration in which the Security Management server and the cluster members are on different machines. ClusterXL is part of the standard Security Gateway installation.
Closest answer is B
A.
From ClusterXL admin guide:
Creating Cluster Members
Important – The hardware for all cluster members must be exactly the same, including:
• CPU
• Motherboard
• Memory
• Number and type of interfaces
Also you can have MGMT+GW clustered with GW only as long as both GW’s have same blades enabled.
*Also you can have MGMT+GW clustered with GW only as long as both GW’s have same blades enabled.
Technically yes but admin guide says:
Installation and Platform Support
ClusterXL must be installed in a distributed configuration in which the Security Management Server and the Security Cluster members are on different computers. ClusterXL is part of the standard Security Gateway installation.
I think, there is no fully correct answer here.
Correct answer should be “No, SG of Member 1 has lower version then other. On Standalone configuration SMS and SG can not be installed on different versions. All SGs have different number and NICs types. Member 3 doesn’t have enough memory.”

Converting a Standalone Deployment to ClusterXL.
Before you can convert a Standalone Deployment to ClusterXL, you must first migrate the Security Gateway and the Security Management Server to two different computers. We recommend that you keep the existing Standalone Computer available until you complete and test the new ClusterXL environment.
That means “D” is probably the right answer.
C. No, the Security Management Server is not running the same operating system as the
cluster members.
D. Yes, these machines are configured correctly for a ClusterXL deployment.
Hmm, by elimination the answer is D
But if you think about D, it sounds incorrect
Im assuming that in his windows deployment, he has two(2) instances installed one SG and SMS
Probably you can do that in Windows OS considering CheckPoint is installed via an .exe
Wrote 156-315.77 last Friday, and passed with 95%!
There were 89 questions of my 156-315.77 exam, many Fill in the Blank questions.
Around 10-15 new questions (IPS, Threat Prevention FW Monitor, VPN Tunnel Sharing, GAiA…etc.).
Be careful of questions on Command and Syntax, GAiA Command.
I used the PassLeader 156-315.77 dumps (http://www.passleader.com/156-315-77.html) (752q VCE and PDF dumps) for preparing for exam, all NEW questions were from it, the most valid 156-315.77 dumps!
By the way:
PassLeader has published part of its 156-315.77 dumps on Google Drive for free here:

Good Luck!!!
It should be “A”:

It is possible to install a gateway on any of the Security Management servers. The role of these gateways is to protect the Security Management servers. Although the Security Management servers backup one another, High Availability is not implemented between the gateways installed on Security Management servers.
