Which option describes the demand when available CPU resources are consumed by zones z1 and z2?

You administer a system with three nonglobal zones. All three-zones (z1, z2, and z3) use a
common resource pool. The pool is a fixed, two-CPU configuration. The default scheduler is FSS.
Zones z1 and z2 run applications that, over time, consume all available CPU resources. You have
allotted 20 shares each to these zones. Zone z3 runs a mission-critical application, so you allotted
it 60 shares.

Because of application maintenance, zone z3 is currently using about 10% of the CPU resources
in the shared pool. Which option describes the demand when available CPU resources are
consumed by zones z1 and z2?

A.
Zones z1 and z2 will consume CPU resources until each zone consumes approximately 20% of
the CPU resources, and only then they will be constrained.

B.
Zones z1 and z2 will consume CPU resources until each zone consumes approximately 60% of
the CPU resources, and only then they will be constrained.

C.
Zones z1 and z2 will consume CPU resources until each zone consumes approximately 90% of
the CPU resources, and only then they will be constrained.

D.
Zones z1 and z2 will consume CPU resources until each zone consumes all the resources that
they require, up to 100%.

Explanation:
Zone 1 and zone2 have each been assigned with 20% of the CPU shares. This is
the maximum that they can consume.

C is good. cpu share does not equal %!!!

I would like to say C but the redaction says “until EACH” zone consumes approximately 90% of the CPU resources and only then will they be constrained.

This would mean in total they are comsuming more than 100% of the system Resources. I agree on the Share not meaning CPU%, they are only priority settings, meaning Zone 3 has higher priority and, if All CPU power was used then it would have roughly the 60% of the resources….BUT since it’s only using 10%, Z2 and Z1 can comsume together UP TO 90% of the resources (they cannot consume the 10% Z3 is using since it has higher priority) , until Z1,Z2 and Z3 use the 100% of the CPU. Would it not mean the redaction leads to D being correct?? Please clarify if you would…

Passed 1Z0-822 exam last week! Scored 85% (the passing score is 70% now)!

I had 80 questions in total, questions were mainly on SMF, IPS, ZFS, Configuring the Network, Securing the Oracle Solairs 11 O/S, Installing Oracle Solaris 11 on multiple hosts and so on.

The 1Z0-822 exam has been revised since 2016, I do recommend you to learn the latest 1Z0-822 dumps here:
