The Junos OS supports Diffie-Hellman (DH) Groups 1, 2, and 5. The larger the prime number—the stronger the key—and the more computationally intensive the calculation. Diffie-Hellman Group 1 uses a 768-bit prime number. Diffie-Hellman Group 2 uses a 1024-bit prime number. Diffie-Hellman Group 5 uses a 1536-bit prime number. You must configure both tunnel peers to use the same DH group; otherwise, the key generation process fails.
