A redundant Ethernet interface is a pseudointerface that manages two “child” physical interfaces, one on each node of the cluster. Configuration parameters set for a redundant Ethernet interface are inherited by its child interfaces. A redundant Ethernet interface allows the chassis cluster to share one IP address across two links. When a redundancy group that the redundant Ethernet interface belongs to fails over, its redundant Ethernet interfaces fail over with it and their interfaces on the new node become active.
