Which of the following is not a characteristic of a firewall?
A.
Manages public access to private networked resources
B.
Routes packets between the networks
C.
Examines all traffic routed between the two networks to see if it meets certain criteria
D.
Filters only inbound traffic but not outbound traffic
B
D Ecsa v8 page 406 It actually does filter both inbound and outbound traffic
ReRead the question: Says filters ONLY inbound but NOT Outbound. With that in mind B is the right answer
Sorry, Your right D because of NOT a characteristic.
Firewall usually DO work in routing mode, and many Network-based firewalls do not even support a non-routing mode. They also typically filter traffic in both directions!
Therefore for Network-based firewalls the answer “B” is incorrect and “D”is correct…
If specifically host-based firewalls are meant, then “B” might be correct, but “D” is definitely still correct too, as host-based firewalls still filter in both directions.
(The fact that many host-based firewalls have an “allow all outbound” rule in place does not change the fact they still filter in both directions)
According to ECSAv8 Mod 12 Pg 406
Actually All the answers are right except “D”
So D would be the Answer
