Which is an operational process performed by AWS for data security?
A.
AES-256 encryption of data stored on any shared storage device
B.
Decommissioning of storage devices using industry-standard practices
C.
Background virus scans of EBS volumes and EBS snapshots
D.
Replication of data across multiple AWS Regions
E.
Secure wiping of EBS data when an EBS volume is unmounted
B. Decommissioning of storage devices using industry-standard practices
Is E the correct answer?
B
Security is main concern so data must be wiped. When it is decommissioned it still has data we can take snapshot so for data security must be wiped.
My mistake. B is correct answer.
“When a storage device has reached the end of its useful life, AWS procedures include a decommissioning process that is designed to prevent customer data from being exposed to unauthorized individuals.
AWS uses the techniques detailed in DoD 5220.22-M (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual) or NIST 800-88 (Guidelines for Media Sanitization) to destroy data as part of the decommissioning process.
All decommissioned magnetic storage devices are degaussed and physically destroyed in accordance with industry-standard practices.”
B
It’s B.
Decommissioning of storage devices using industry-standard practices
B. Straight from the official cert guide…
B. Decommissioning of storage devices using industry-standard practices
B is correct
A)AES-256 encryption of data stored on any shared storage device (User responsibility)
B)Decommissioning of storage devices using industry-standard practices
C)Background virus scans of EBS volumes and EBS snapshots (No virus scan is performed by AWS on User instances)
D)Replication of data across multiple AWS Regions (AWS does not replicate data across regions unless done by User)
E)Secure wiping of EBS data when an EBS volume is unmounted (data is not wiped off on EBS volume when unmounted and it can be remounted on other EC2 instance)
How come the admin does not correct the responses based on the experts opinion? For instance the wrong answer is still selected.
