AutoParts Ltd is a manufacturing company making components for the automotive industry. The
company has a total of 200 employees.

AutoParts Ltd is based in the New York area. The company has two offices: a main office in the

run Windows XP Professional with Microsoft Office 2003 Professional.
The main office has three servers running Windows Server 2003. The branch office has two
servers running Windows Server 2003 and each factory has one server running Windows Server
2003. Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 runs on a server in both the main office and the branch
office.
Existing Licensing Solution
All Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP licenses are OEM. The Microsoft Exchange Server
and Exchange CALs, Windows Server CALs and Microsoft Office licenses are purchased through
different Open License agreements.
Software Assurance is not included with any of the license agreements.

Planned Changes
The company plans to replace all desktops and portable computers and migrate to Windows 7
Professional during the next two years.
The company also plans to upgrade all servers to Windows Server 2008 and to upgrade the email
servers to Exchange Server 2010.
The company plans to deploy a Web Portal solution using Windows SharePoint Foundation.
