balancing functions?

Use manual mode so u can authorise what u need
Correct is A
Looking at the web link on VCE Answer – D (Disable Storage DRS)
Manually selecting a datastore in the datastore cluster is only possible if the option “Disable Storage DRS for this virtual machine” is selected. Placing the VM on the specific datastore and then enabling Storage DRS later on that VM is futile. Storage DRS will load balance the VM if necessary, but it doesn’t take the VM storage profile compatibility into account when load balancing.
[email protected] Muhammad i will appreciate if you have any Questions and answer of 1v0-601 as i am going for exam soon
My friend who sat the exam said he went with option A ( Manual Mode) – he thinks that there are 2 options auto and manual – and manual mode where admin can approve if they want
the correct is A, as the vmware site said, In manual mode, Storage DRS makes balancing recommendations that an administrator may approve. – See more at: http://www.vmware.com/products/vsphere/features/storage-drs.html#sthash.dhtwONs5.dpuf
Option D is correct Muhammad has provided the reason for that.
option D is correct as define by Muhammad
Option A “E-Learning” going with JJ manual mode
http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/vsphere-storage-drs-interoperability.pdf
In manual mode, Storage DRS will make recommendations when the configured thresholds for latency or space utilization have been exceeded. It also will provide recommendations for placement during the provisioning process of a virtual machine or a virtual disk. In other words, when you set Storage DRS to manual mode, you
will benefit from it because it will monitor your environment for you and, based on that, will make recommendations on destinations for virtual disk migrations
Correction sorry – found additional supporting information. Since the question specifies “all storage balancing functions” then DRS must be disabled. See page-12 https://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vmw-vsphr-5-1-stor-drs-uslet-101-web.pdf
Space-utilization load balancing “cannot be manually disabled” other than by turning off vSphere Storage DRS on the datastore cluster. Each load-balancing algorithm independently generates a candidate migration recommendation that is reviewed, weighted and aggregated before vSphere Storage DRS generates a unified
migration recommendation.

Lucy: Ok, I will just eat a few.
Q: What do you need to do so Lucy does not eat *all* of the cookies.
A: Burn the cookie jar.
B: Get her to ask each time she wants a cookie.
If the cluster is set to automatic mode of operation, SDRS will use Storage vMotion to automatically migrate VMs to other datastores in the datastore cluster if the threshold is exceed. If the cluster is set to manual, the administrator will be given a set of recommendations to apply. SDRS will provide the best recommendations to balance the space usage of a datastores. As before, once you apply the recommendations, Storage vMotion will be used to move one or more VMs between datastores in the same datastore cluster.
The answer is A (Manual Mode)
Answer is A
D
Answer is A
D is not correct cause the Disable Storage DRS as the mohammd said is operating on vm
there is an other way you remove the cluster storage that is not between the answers
A
The Enable Storage DRS check box in the Datastore Cluster Settings dialog box enables or disables all of these components at once. If necessary, you can disable I/O-related functions of Storage DRS independently of space balancing functions.
When you disable Storage DRS on a datastore cluster, Storage DRS settings are preserved. When you enable Storage DRS, the settings for the datastore cluster are restored to the point where Storage DRS was disabled.
