Which two statements are true about local storage? (Choose two.)
A.
It requires a storage network to communicate with the host.
B.
It is a virtual storage.
C.
It is a direct‐attached storage.
D.
It requires a compatible Host Bus Adapter in the host.
Curious what people think on this one. I have seen D and B listed as correct, however I think C has to be in there someplace, Since in most cases Local storage consists of DAS, using SATA, IDE or SCSI drives on the host. The problem I have with the rest of the answers is that they all imply a SAN or NAS and none of them are implicitly true. They might be true, but not in every case.
C, D
From VMware:
Local storage can be internal hard disks located inside your ESXi host, or it can be external storage systems located outside and connected to the host directly through protocols such as SAS or SATA.
Local storage does not require a storage network to communicate with your host. You need a cable connected to the storage unit and, when required, a compatible HBA in your host.
DB is correct : C,D
DB: Agree with you, C,D are correct answers
C&D
Confusion: In the official VCA-DVC guide, Chapter 4, it lists three types of storage: One of which is Direct Attached storage, “storage connected directly to the host” “plugged directly into a RAID controller on the host” “must be formatted as VMFS to enable VM storage”
So why would you discount “It is a directâattached storage.” here?
