Maybe I’m just confused by the wording of this question. A fixed path selection policy will use only use the 1 specified path (by default) for a particular datastore. Since we are talking about 4 separate datastores, you need at least 1 path to access each of them. 1+1+1+1 = 4, which is “D”.

Ok, I think I get it… I guess this question assumes all 4 datastores reside on a single storage array and there are 4 paths from the host the storage array.

If that’s the case and a fixed path policy is used then yes the correct answer is “C. 1”

If the datastores each resided on a different storage array then the answer would be “D. 4”
