An administrator decides to implement a Fixed multipathing policy for an ESX Host with four available paths and four configured VMFS datastores. After enabling the policy for each datastore, how many paths by default will be used by the host to send data to the four datastores?
A.
3
B.
2
C.
1
D.
4
Maybe I’m just confused by the wording of this question. A fixed path selection policy will use only use the 1 specified path (by default) for a particular datastore. Since we are talking about 4 separate datastores, you need at least 1 path to access each of them. 1+1+1+1 = 4, which is “D”.

Ok, I think I get it… I guess this question assumes all 4 datastores reside on a single storage array and there are 4 paths from the host the storage array.
If that’s the case and a fixed path policy is used then yes the correct answer is “C. 1”
If the datastores each resided on a different storage array then the answer would be “D. 4”
You’re right.
Correct answer is C
