Which step can be taken to collect information about the issue?

An administrator receives a call indicating users reported extremely slow access to virtual machines the previous evening. Access to virtual machines performs as expected as checked by the administrator. Over the course of several days, the administrator continues to receive calls about the issue, which appears to occur at intermittent times each evening.

Which step can be taken to collect information about the issue?

A.
Create a condition alarm to alert when Datastore Disk Usage (*) exceeds 70%

B.
Collect resxtop performance data in batch mode and analyze total number of I/O operations (CMDS/s) metrics

C.
Create an event alarm to alert when a storage device is disconnected

D.
Collect resxtop performance data in batch mode and analyze average device latency (DAVG/cm-d) metrics

Explanation:

I didn’t find oficial docs to that question but using logic, I choose option D.

A – Used for space use.
B – Depend on your Storage Array you can obtain more or less I/O operations, its good to look this but only for help.
C – Storage is not disconnected is high used, that answer didn’t work.

I agree, D. C might work but the question states that it only occurs at night. the overall io operations wont tell much in this case as it’s just a number, it doesn’t indicate average io during a period of time.

VMware recommends using disk latency metrics for diagnosing disk access issues, and frankly so do I 😉

The correct answer is: None of the above.

The question states that the problem is with ‘slow access’ to the VM, not with slow VM performance. ‘Slow Access’ indicates a network problem, not a disk problem.
