Essentially FT does not offer Application FT – it only offers FT at the VM level. If the application fails there is nothing FT could do… This would be app monitoring. However the use cases desribed by VMware does use "Not Cluster-Aware" meaning a server with a single point of failure i.e. cannot be clustered so you can use FT to make it a redundant VM.
