A VMFS datastore with several running virtual machines is nearing 100% capacity. An administrator intends to grow the datastore so that existing virtual machines will have room for re- sizing, thin provisioning and snapshots. Which action can be taken to provide additional capacity for these functions?
A.
Add an Extent to the existing VMFS Datastore from the configuration tab of an ESXi Host
B.
Add an Extent to the existing VMFS Datastore from the Datastore inventory view in vCenter server.
C.
Use VMFS Volume Grow from an configuration tab of an ESXi Host with visibility to the applicable VMFS datastore
D.
Use VMFS Volume Grow from the Datastore Inventory view in vCenter server
This should be Answer “A”. Adding an Extent or Growing an Extent is the same procedure in Vsphere 5

1 Log in to the vSphere Client and select a host from the Inventory panel.
2 Click the Configuration tab and click Storage.
3 From the Datastores view, select the datastore to increase and click Properties.
4 Click Increase.
Thanks.
Actually the answer is both A and B.
For B you can select the datastore in the Datastore Inventory view and from the configuration tab you can click properties to get to the same screen that’s mentioned above.
