You want to troubleshoot poor remote console performance. Which is a possible cause of the problem?
A.
The virtual NIC assigned to the virtual machine has a speed or duplex mismatch.
B.
The physical NIC assigned to the virtual machine port group has a speed or duplex mismatch.
C.
The virtual machine has an IP address conflict.
D.
To conserve memory, the ESX Server has initiated Transparent Page Sharing.
This answer seems wrong based on another similar question, which is conflicting to this one. It matches answer A instead. Anyone know for sure?
I know it conflicts with another similar question, but according to the kb this one is correct
http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1002450
“Verify that the speed and duplex are set correctly on the network adapters in the ESX host”
I agree with Kevin.. physical NIC can be assigned to host, not VM
billy , physical NIC can be assigned to VM portgroup as uplink , so answer b is correct.
Since the remote console works over the management port, B is incorrect. If it worked over the port group NIC, then it would not be possible to connect to VMs attached to vSwitches that have no uplink. ‘A’ has to be the correct answer.
