Answer C is wrong. If you migrate server which detects and use for example SSE and move it to older Intel with MMX only the server will crash because of missing SSE. If you migrate from Intel SSE capable to AMD Athlon XP which supports SSE it will work.

So the right answer here is D because supported cpu features decide.

I think Zbiggy is right.
I have found that (but not sure) vMotion can work between different Manufacturers ( Like AMD and Intel) but same features sets

As per article mentioned by @john

For vMotion purposes, compatible CPUs means that source and target CPUs must have the same manufacturer (AMD or Intel) and be members of the same basic processor family (for example, Pentium 4 or Core), and have a common set of features implemented.

Both C and D must be right

Although EVC mode can mask different versions within the same chipset family they must at least share the same chipset (Intel or AMD) and chipset features. Therefore there is no one correct answer, the answer is C + D together.
