Refer to the Exhibit.
ACME Party Supplies Corporation has a requirement to monitor all virtual machines in a vSphere 5 environment for CPU and Memory usage. An administrator configures an alarm in vCenter Server to send an alert when any VM exceeds 65% memory utilization and 75% CPU utilization. The alarm should warn administrators if the virtual machine is within 20% of the defined thresholds. The alarm has been created with the default options as shown in the exhibit.
Which three modifications must be made to the default settings in the alarm definition to satisfy the stated requirements? (Choose three.)
A.
Set the VM CPU Usage (%) Alert trigger to 75% and the VM Memory Usage(%) Alert trigger to 55%
B.
Set the VM CPU Usage (%) Alert trigger to 75% and the VM Memory Usage(%) Warning trigger to 55%
C.
Set the VM CPU Usage (%) Warning trigger to 65% and the VM Memory Usage (%) Warning trigger to 45%
D.
Set the Trigger if all of the conditions are satisfied radio button
E.
Set the Trigger if any of the conditions are satisfied radio button
I would go for :
@75% CPU alert, @55% CPU Warning
@65% Mem alert, @45% Mem Warning
Trigger if all conditions are satisfied, because the sentence reads AND.
However, from the answers, this is not a direct option.
A would alert to soon for memory alert.
C would alarm to late for CPU usage.
Can someone please elaborate why ACD is correct or is there a typo somewhere?
i believe there is a typo
its not a typo this is an actual exam question. someone should complain!
I have written in about the question twice already – the numbers simply dont add up – the answers should be:
Set the Trigger if all of the conditions are satisfied radio button
CPU alert @75% Mem alert @ 65%
CPU warning @ 55% Mem warning @ 45%
none of the alert/warning answers add up to this. Terrible, terrible question.
I got the exact question on my exam. It is not a Typo. that is exactly how the question is written. Good thing I passed the exam. But I need to complain.because this can’t be right!
It doesn’t ask what the perfect settings are – it asks “to satisfy the stated requirements”. Yes, a normal person would set the memory alert to 65% like the requirement states, but setting it to 55% also satisfies the requirement.
If thats is the case C would still not satisfy as your setting the CPU warning to 65% instead of 55% meaning you would not get the warming within satisfactory requirements. The answers are wrong.
Word games again:
“to satisfy the stated requirements” -> 55% in memory implies alarm when mem is at 65%. Sad but true.
“The alarm should warn administrators if the virtual machine is within 20% of the defined thresholds” -> within 20% means any value from 75% to 55% is valid because is within this range.
Just one note:
I have found that question 1324 seems the same but with sanity added. So I assume there is some kind of error in that question (bad picture, typo, whatever) I would not recommend this question for preparing VCP5, go to 1324
